India To Launch 7 Satellites From Singapore On July 30
Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), which represents the Singaporean government, and ST Engineering collaborated to construct the DS-SAR satellite.
Bengaluru: On July 30, at 6.30 am, India will launch PSLV-C56 from the first launchpad of the ISRO's Sriharikota spaceport with the DS-SAR satellite from Singapore and six other passengers. The Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), on behalf of the Government of Singapore, and ST Engineering collaborated to build the DS-SAR satellite.
It will be utilized to support the satellite imaging needs of several government entities in Singapore once it is installed and operational. It will be used by ST Engineering to provide their commercial clients with multi-modal, more responsive images and geospatial services.
A Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload created by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is carried by DS-SAR. As a result, the DS-SAR can offer coverage in all weather conditions day and night, and is able to image with a resolution of one meter when using complete polarimetry.
According to a tweet from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the country's space agency, the PSLV-C56 was purchased by the NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a central public sector undertaking under the Department of Space, to launch the 360-kg DS-SAR satellite.
The six co-passenger satellites are ARCADE, a research satellite, SCOOB-II, a 3U nanosatellite carrying a technology demonstrator payload, NuLIoN by NuSpace, an advanced 3U nanosatellite enabling seamless IoT connectivity in both urban and remote locations, Galassia-2, a 3U nanosatellite that will be orbiting in low earth orbit, and ORB-12 STRIDER, a satellite developed and built
